DA-MIC grew up listening to urban music like most kids and just like most kids he fell in love with hip hop. DA-MIC was originally born in Haiti but grew up in Queens, New York until he moved to Ft. Lauderdale Florida with his family. The name DA-MIC has three meanings, the first means he is just the microphone, God is the true emcee, the second is the acronym which means Devine Apostle Ministering In Combat (DA-MIC) and the final meaning is his actual name, Daniel Michael. Before DA-MIC ever started producing or really rapping, he was writing. Since elementary school DA-MIC has always been good with words; whether it is poetry, short stories or a song; so he was destined to rule with a microphone in his hand.

DA-MICs very first instrument was the recorder and then he played the piano for a couple of months and then he played the Tenor Sax which became his primary instrument. He has been trained on Pro Tools and Digital Performer but has used and has experience with Reason, Sonar, Garage Band, Cubase, Akai MPC, Korg Triton; various drum machines and even fruity loops.

DA-MIC will basically use whatever he gets his hands on. Even though his specialty is hip hop, DA-MIC never wants to be put in the box so he is always creating new sounds; whether its jazz, R&B, worship music, techno or any other music art form. Along with rapping and producing, DA-MIC is also a DJ and held a weekly show on OWL RADIO for about 3 years.

DA-MIC is currently working on his compilation album called: DA DEMO TYPE. He is also a live sound engineer and has had many live sound gigs which consist of hip hop concerts, church events and public speaking gigs.

DA-MIC is always striving for success that is why his motto is: "Run with me or get run over".
